Music Classes

Our classes give you the musical basics: hear the music, read the music; feel and count rhythm; how to play music with confidence and fun.

Spots are limited. Please call or text to check openings, (909) 841-4999.

(Automated scheduling has been put on hold).

30 minutes is an ideal lesson length for children’s lessons or for a brief brush-up on technique.

60 minutes is a standard length adult music lesson, perfect for relaxing and learning, or for a kid who loves music and wants to spend “just a little more time.” 😁

With all of my classes, I encourage exploration in rhythm, art, color, storytelling. If you sign up for an instrument class but, one day, you ask to work on songwriting or singing or something else, then we’ll work on that. I approach each day as a unique thing; my goal is to create a safe place for learning and expression whatever that looks like.

Guitar

Finger-picking fun. Build your guitar skills with guitar geography, how to tune, string and care for your instrument, hand and finger position, strengthening, rhythm, the magic of chords up and down the fretboard, and making sense of your favorite songs.  | Singing along and discovering how to play and sing at the same time is encouraged!

Piano

Learning piano is fun! All the keys, all the flats and sharps and the highs and the lows – all out there for you to see and touch. Learn how to find the keys, to feel the rhythm of the music, and how to play the songs you love. | Singing and performance is never mandatory but is welcome and encouraged if you wanna dare it.

Songwriting

Learn the basics of songwriting, writing, rhythm and phrasing, melody and harmony. We'll have fun exploring ideas, writing exercises and how to edit without losing your song. | Along with songwriting, we can also explore your instrument of choice, whether it's piano, guitar, ukulele or something else.

General Music

We'll have fun exploring ideas, writing exercises and how to edit without losing your song. | Along with songwriting, we can also explore your instrument of choice, whether it's piano, guitar, ukulele or something else.

Homeschool

I am a vendor with iLead and Granite Mountain Charter Schools, offering music classes for homeschoolers in a relaxed, music environment.

Preparing

For your first lesson

We’ll spend some time getting to know each other and we’ll play some musical games. Let’s have some fun with music!

1. What is your fave song?

This is a goals question, think about a song that makes you play air guitar and sing into the hairbrush microphone. Or one which simply moves you.

2. What is your musical experience?

What is your experience with music, lessons, and performing and/or writing music? What did you like and dislike about it?

3. What is your musical favorite thing to do?

Listen to music, dance, blast the music, hike and play music

Cancellation Policy

With fewer than 48 hours notice of a cancellation, students will be charged for the missed lesson so that we can be paid for the reserved time. Lessons canceled due to illness or emergency, if I’m provided with notice before the lesson time on the day of the lesson, are eligible for scheduling make-up lessons.

If you do need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, please contact me directly at 909-841-4999.

About Wendy

Instructor

Wendy Hunt is a singer-songwriter whose original songs are full of heart and humor. She began her music journey in the 60s, falling asleep to her father’s music get-togethers and jams. Wendy first played on an old piano on the front porch of the family cabin and soon came to turn to the piano as a confidante and source of expression.

She’s performed as a vocalist in The Buffalo Blues, Northwest, Circle Band, Plum Nelly Music and solo. While Wendy has performed at events, festivals and on stage, her favorite performances are impromptu and intimate.

Growing up along the east coast from Nashville to Pennsylvania, her music reflects the bluegrass, folk, and country of her childhood as well as jazz and blues.

Wendy studied vocal techniques with Josephine Lombardo, a professional soprano and creative director of the West Coast Opera Company.
